How do you know that those aren't forged Volk G2s? I don't see a logo on the wheel centers...

Kinja'd!!!

And on an expensive TVR Sagaris, that is more expensively converted to a race car, I don't think they have a problem paying for forged Rays Engineering Volk G2 wheels.

Here is another picture earlier . As you can see, Rotas. I don't know why they chose it but they wouldn't be the only team to run Rotas.

The green doesn't look the same, but even if it is the same green car, the wheels may not be the same.. the concave at the center of the wheel doesn't look the same between the white Rota Boosts or RMS-1, and the black wheels, which do kind of look like Volk G2s... but maybe the black ones are Rota GR6-2F wheels...

I had 18x8" Rota Torques for years on my Subaru Legacy GT, and they were just fine.

For all the static that Rota gets about broken wheels, I have seen pictures of stock Subaru Legacy GT wheels broken off at the spokes, and OE wheels are presumably over-built.

Rotas bear all the registration marks that they should to be road-certified.

I would probably favor the strength and weight of forged wheels for racing... but hey, their car, their choice... hopefully they have vetted the strength of the wheels.

I get that there is some concern with intellectual property of wheel design, and it is a bit off-putting, but then so are some prices for other brands... There are only so many ways to design a car road wheel, and the whole automotive wheel industry is a bit incenstuous with design theme copying. Truly original yet functional, and aesthetically pleasing designs are not exactly easy to come by.

They are both JWL and VIA certified not to mention they are the second largest producer of OEM wheels right behind Enkei. I think most of the flak comes from when people kit a curb at 50 mph and then wonder "well why did my wheels break."

I was going to go with a Japanese wheel cause everyone says go original, but 1500(most of the time much much more) is really big price for something that is just going to be assualted with dirt, brake dust, rocks, and scratches. So 700 dollar Rotas will do.
